The "Ariadne" project provides psychological support service to children and teenagers, aged four (4) to eighteen (18) years old, who want to discuss issues related to their relative's hospitalization in ICU. It has been documented that critical illness and ICU hospitalization may have negative biopsychosocial consequences both to the patient and his/her relatives. Consequently, the hospitalization in the ICU underlines the importance of psychological intervention and support.

The service aims to improve accessibility of underage family members of critically ill patients in high quality psychological services and focuses on the following objectives: a) effect on the emotional well-being of underage members, b) improvement of adaptive functioning and c) substantial increase in the number of children and teenagers that are willing to accept psychological support from professional Psychologists.
