Anastasia Samara is a Specialized Cardiorespiratory Clinical Physiotherapist currently working in the Intensive Care Unit in Nicosia Hospital (CYPRUS). She has received a Bachelor in Physiotherapy (TEI of Athens), and has specialized in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation in Great Britain (MSc Cardiovascular Rehabilitation). She also holds an MA in Continuing Education – Lifelong Learning and Professional Training and an MSc in Management, Technology and Quality. She was a Teaching Associate at the European University Cyprus teaching in the Physiotherapy BSc Programme and the Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy modules for the years 2009-2011. She has participated as an associate in research projects dealing with Continuing Education and innovative learning methods in Health Care Professionals (TELEPROMETHEUS Project), as well as explored issues in Cardiovascular Health and Risk Factors in adolescents and Continuing Education in Physiotherapists. She is a member of the Cyprus Association of Physiotherapists, British Association for Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR), European Respiratory Society (ERS), European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and of the sub group EACPR –ESC. She is currently dealing with the subject of exercise personalization in Heart Failure patients.
Also, she has made several presentations and publications on relevant topics in international conferences. Her special interests relate to the topics of ICU Rehabilitation, Cardiovascular Disease- Risk factors, prevention, and Rehabilitation and in matters of Continuing Education of Health Care Professionals.
